Our story began in 2013, in the heart of Amsterdam at the Hard Rock Cafe — a place full of music, laughter, and (very) busy shifts. Dave, born and raised in Amsterdam, and Sophie, freshly arrived from England, met while working there as servers and connected instantly. Our time at the Hard Rock Cafe not only brought us together but also introduced us to many wonderful friends who have remained a cherished part of our lives ever since.

Not long after, we decided to take the next step and move in together. Our first home together — a small but cosy apartment in Betondorp — holds countless happy memories of shared meals, laughter, gaming, and the simple joys of building a life together.

We have loved bringing our families together. With Sophie’s family frequently visiting Amsterdam, we were able to bridge two homes and two cultures — English and Dutch.

Our little family grew over time, with our feathered friends Opie and Sookie, two parakeets who brought endless chatter and colour into our lives. Years later, Blue joined the flock.

Over the years, we’ve explored the world together — from spontaneous city breaks to tropical adventures with family and friends. Every journey reminds us how lucky we are to explore new places and create memories with the people we love.

Now, after all these years, we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate our marriage surrounded by the people who’ve been part of our story from the very beginning.
